FEED YOUR SKIN THE WAY YOU FEED YOUR BODY!

Most of us purchase particular skin care products because we want visible results, and fair enough! Whilst many cosmeceutical ranges offer various products that offer temporary signs of effectiveness, what they don't tell you is that the chemicals and toxins they are using in their products can cause damage to your skin and health in the long run.

I used to be a bonafide 'junkie' for these kinds of products. I mean, let's face it, who doesn't like the sound of having your wrinkles 'erased' or your signs of aging diminised within days?

However, as I started to seriously research the use of natural versus chemical based products, it became very clear that as someone who cares about my appearance as well as my health, these are not the products I should be using.

Although I have always had relatively good skin for my age, I certainly did not always do right by it. I smoked. I drank. I didn't have the best diet in the world. Now after combining a healhier lifestyle with the use of plant based, environmentally and animal friendly products, my skin has never looked better.

If you think about all the items you use on your body each that may include harmful chemicals, it adds up quickly! The good news is that there are plenty of good quality, natural products now on the market. Look for face and body products that are designed to offer you results in the long term whilst being delightful to the senses with the inclusion of essential oils. These include body scrubs, moisturisers, oils, body butter, shampoo, conditioner, facial and body cleanser, lip balm and make up.

Ingredients do not have to necessarily be 'organic' however they should definitely be all natural. Avoid parabens, sulphates, PEGs and anything else that isn't derived from vegetables or plants. Look for products that are not massed produced. You may even find some suppliers such as Botanique Skin & Spa who can custom design products for individuals on request.
